YU has launched their mid-range 'Flagship' smartphone in India at a price of Rs 13,499 MRP. This phone was initially sold via a flash sale on Flipkart. However, now you can buy it without any flash sales, i.e Open Sale. ( check here ).

 Reasons to Buy Yunicorn
  • 4GB RAM - Currently there are only a few Android smartphones with 4GB ram available under 15K in India.
  • Good Build Quality for the Price
  • Full HD Display
  • Fingerprint Sensor

 Reasons Not to Buy According to Customers 
  • MediaTek Helio P10 – 1.8 Ghz Octa Core (MT6755) Processor is inferior to Snapdragon 650 seen on Xiaomi Mi Note 3 when it comes to performance.
  • Poor Camera - Most buyers are complaining about average camera performance. However, some say an OTA update has improved it a bit.
  • Android On Steroids ( AOS ) based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Android 6 Marshmallow has been out for months now, it's a shame a new phone is shipping with older Lollipop.
  • No Cyanogen OS - highly customizable and tweaked Cyanogen OS is no longer shipping with YU devices as they have ended the partnership with Cyanogen Inc. 
  • Battery - even though this has a massive 4000mAh battery, some users are complaining about not that great battery backup. I guess this can be improved by using low brightness and switching off 3G / 4G data when not in use.
  • Hybrid Dual Sim -( two sim or one sim/memory card). If you wanna use the sdcard, then you can't use the Dual sim slot as both share the same slot.
